As a coach, I’m aligned with their focus on helping people of all ages become safer in the water. “I am very excited to be a part of what SwimLabs Westchester is bringing to the Metro New York and Southern Connecticut swim communities. Michael was captain of the University of Michigan’s swim team, where he swam for the legendary Jon Urbanchek and Bob Bowman, and swam internationally for Puerto Rico qualifying for the 2002 Pan Pacific Championships in Yokohama, Japan. Michael was named San Diego’s Age Group Coach of the Year in 20, has coached swimmers up to the US Olympic, Paralympic and Junior National qualifier levels and has run successful learn-to-swim programs including the Michael Phelps Swim School. Michael comes to SwimLabs Westchester following a 10-year award-winning career as a club team coach in San Diego, CA and brings with him a passion of enabling swimmers of all ages to achieve their fullest potential, a focus on high-technique instruction and a love of racing.
